The Baby Alpaca by Giana de Lana is our first Collection. Made in Peru and inspired by the most used colors in our Sierra and of course they are 100% Baby Alpaca which ensures an unmatched fall, softness and natural shine in your fabrics. The fiber of the La Baby Alpaca Collection comes from alpacas that live in the Andean highlands at more than 4000 meters high, which gives it unique characteristics. The yarn is 4 strands which makes it perfect for all kinds of projects from warm knitted sweaters and cardigans to scarves and hats. Being a light fiber it adapts to any knitting or crochet project. It comes in melange colors, that is, you can see different shades of the color range in the same fiber, which gives a unique effect.

It is a Collection of extremely soft, luxurious silky and fluffy fiber yarn, you will feel that you weave clouds!!

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FIBER, BABY ALPACA:

It is three times warmer than merino wool.

The alpaca fibre is soft that almost all of the sheep's wool, it is naturally soft compared to the merino wool to make it just as soft, must go through a process of softening. It is soft as cashmere but stronger and less expensive which makes it more durable.

Garments with exceptional shine and drape, due to the structure and resistance of the fiber composition. Properties difficult to replicate with any other fiber.

It does not easily felt or lint, is extremely strong and does not warp.

It's warm, non-stinging, and lanolin-free, making it hypoallergenic, perfect for people with sensitive skin.

CARE

We recommend hand washing your Baby Alpaca knitted garments in lukewarm water with a mild wool detergent. Dry flat, preferably on a towel, in a cool place, avoiding heat or direct sunlight.
