The Baby Alpaca by Giana Wool is our first Collection. Made in Peru inspired by the colors most used in the Sierra and are of course 100% Baby Alpaca ensures a fall, softness and natural shine unmatched in your tissues. The fiber of the Collection Baby Alpaca comes from alpacas that live in the andean highlands to more than 4000 mts of height which gives it unique characteristics. The yarn is a 4 ply, perfect for all kinds of projects, from warm sweaters and cardigans knit up scarves and hats. To be a fiber light is adaptable to any project for knitting or crochet. Comes in color melange, that is to say you can see the different shades of the color range in the same fiber, which gives a unique effect.
It is a Collection of extremely soft, luxurious silky and fluffy fiber yarn, you will feel that you weave clouds!!
Recommended sample: 18 stitches, 26 rows per 10 cm

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FIBER, BABY ALPACA:
It is three times warmer than merino wool.
The alpaca fibre is soft that almost all of the sheep's wool, it is naturally soft compared to the merino wool to make it just as soft, must go through a process of softening. It is soft as cashmere but stronger and less expensive which makes it more durable.
Garments with exceptional shine and drape, due to the structure and resistance of the fiber composition. Properties difficult to replicate with any other fiber.
Lighter garments than merino wool because, compared to sheep fiber, alpaca fiber is hollow.
It does not easily felt or lint, is extremely strong and does not warp.
It's warm, non-stinging, and lanolin-free, making it hypoallergenic, perfect for people with sensitive skin.
CARE
We recommend hand washing your Baby Alpaca knitted garments in lukewarm water with a mild wool detergent. Dry flat, preferably on a towel, in a cool place, avoiding heat or direct sunlight.
